Springfield Police Department
The Springfield Police Department and Springfield Public School Security Officers are communicating to get truant students back in school. When a student is identified out in the community during school hours, police can simply contact a school security officer who will then transport the student back to school.
The Traffic Safety Alliance officer coordinates the "Every 15 Minutes" program with Springfield Public Schools. This is a powerful program which graphically depicts the consequences of drinking and driving. "Every 15 Minutes" receives tremendous support in our commuity through in kind donations from many organizations. This program is presented at area high schools in the spring, prior to graduation activities and celebrations.
Safe Schools/Healthy Students and the Springfield Police Department continue to look for ways they can work together to prevent violence and promote healthy student development.
