The collaboration between Safe Schools/Healthy Students and MSU is taking place in the College of Education, where workshops are being presented to teach both aspiring and experienced educators how to foster resiliency in young people. Resiliency is defined by Wolin & Wolin as “The capacity to bounce back, to withstand hardship, and to repair yourself”.

Teachers are learning to incorporate skill building such as conflict resolution, negotiation, and interpersonal problem solving to facilitate a child’s positive social and emotional development. All the workshops have had full enrollment and this training is now a component of the student teaching program at MSU.
